Pres./ Chief - Jeff Crick
Certified
- 1977 (31 years and counting)
Jeff currently is transportation director
for WC schools. He has devoted more hours to the Moville Ambulance / Rescue
Squad than could ever be accounted for. His leadership and direction has been
the foundation and motivation for the entire squad.
VP
- Mike
Byers
Certified - 1975 (33 years and counting)

Mike
left his business for 30 + years to help the people in
the area in need of medical assistance and never asked for anything in return.
His dedication and concern for the community is an example to all. It is
extremely sad to say we are lost this business in our community. It has a
definite effect on the quality of life in Moville when we lose these businesses.

BUSINESS PARTNERS
for MOVILLE AMBULANCE
March includes
EMS Appreciation Week . This is designed to be a week
of appreciation for the volunteer efforts of many community minded people.
Moville has always had a very efficient and proud Fire Dept. and EMS service.
These persons give a lot of their time to dedicate themselves to the welfare of the community.
Please check the list of providers for both EMS and Fire, so you know who will
respond in your time of need. Week day coverage many time involves
EMPLOYERS who allow their employees to leave work to respond to a medical or accident emergency.
Without their support, EMS service may have to respond from Sioux City, a paid
service. We all realize what a hardship this would place on our community. A
recognition from the State Bureau of EMS is being sent to these local businesses
for their community spirit and commitment. They ask nothing in return. When you
see any of these business owners or managers, please thank them as well as
support their business efforts.

Moville Ambulance / Woodbury Central
History of the WC First Responder Program
Beginning in 1990, 15 high school students met on Sunday evenings to take the
First Responder Course. 9 became nationally certified. Many are now in
the medical profession full time. Some occupations include-ER
Physician, Gen Practitioner, Trauma Nurse in Level 1 Center, Nuclear Radiology,
State Trooper, Clinical Nursing, just to mention a few. Using this as a
springboard, WC then incorporated it
into the curriculum, aligned with Western Iowa Tech for college credit as well,
and have since provided experience for approximately 60 students. This course
started the program that became 1 course of the first certified Vocational
Health program in the state.
Students becoming certified and working with
Moville Ambulance Service while in high school and on availability include:
Megan Chartier, Kelly McElrath, Michelle Bock, Erica Kilstrom, Wendy Brosamle,
Shelly Brosamle, Theresa Myres, Jon Kilstrom, Christine Sweers,
Josiah Sweers, Erin Maxwell

A Tribute to One of our own!
Reggie -
an EMT-I began his classes in 1998-99 at Moville. He became certified in May,
1999,here in Moville, and began riding with the squad. All he wanted was to
drive, but, if you know Reggie, you knew he wanted to be in the back with the
patient. Even in the most difficult circumstances, he would lighten things up
and you would find yourself smiling (and maybe even feeling a little guilty
because you were). His patients would be smiling right along with him also. His
personality was sometimes the best treatment he would give.
Our squad will have stories about things he did and they will always be a part of our
lives, as he was. He was truly one of us! Reggie,
we will miss you!!
Reggie died as a result of injuries received in a car accident on Dec 9,
2000. That was one
of the hardest calls we ever responded to!
